Points of view.

Ways of seeing

This chapter is about the different ways that people have to see an image. It says that what people see is directly affected by previous knowledge of the viewers. It also mentions that vision is something reciprocal because when we see something, we can also be seen.
The writer says that the invention of cameras had changed the way that people perceive an image. Cameras had eliminated the uniqueness of the images because one camera can take the same picture of the same thing more than once. In this context we could say that the viewers do not go to the picture but the picture goes to the viewer.
I think the appreciation of an image or picture depends on the person who is looking at that. Every person has different judgement or believes. In this context, the appreciation or meaning of a pictures becomes really abstract and undefined.

I think you did a good summary, you spoke about the main points, but I think you forgot to put your opinion about it in the last pharagraph. More over I did not found any mistake. The ideas are clearly.

Great job.

Hi Angel,
You´ve provided a very good summary of the text. Actually, you refer to the fact that the invention of the camera has made it possible for people to see what was unique, and therefore, only possible for some people.

You also refer to the fact that people have different beliefs, and therefore viewpoints change. How do you think this "awareness" of the fact that viewpoints change over time, space, etc. will impact you as a future English teacher?
